Oh No! It’s That Pesky Word Again… NEW YEAR’S “RESOLUTION” (Hello, 2026)

Oh No! It’s That Pesky Word Again… NEW YEAR’S “RESOLUTION” (Hello, 2026)

Oh yes… that word.

But here’s the good news: 2026 comes with a built-in “do over.” Like a makeup test in school only this time, the grade is peace of mind, and the teacher is you. Clean sheet. Fresh page. A brand-new little moment in time where you get to write anything you want on it.

And if you’re like me, some of last year’s “to-do’s” are still hanging around, waving hello. A few are worth tackling again, and a few others? Well they’ve magically disappeared. (Isn’t it amazing how that happens?)

Whenever I make a list, I start with the best intentions keeping the goals realistic enough to actually live with. Because a resolution sounds so official, doesn’t it? A promise. A pledge. A decision.

That’s the part that can feel a bit serious and then somewhere around March or April, the list starts looking a little tired. Like it needs a nap. Or a snack. Or a vacation.

But wait remember the clean sheet? The “do over” page?

That’s the secret: it’s your story, and you have full license to rewrite it anytime. January 1st doesn’t own you. You can flip the switch back on in February or May or on a random Tuesday when your coffee tastes especially inspiring.

Because honestly, we make promises and decisions every single day, not just on January 1st.

So if the phrase “New Year’s Resolution” makes you nervous, here’s a fun little trick:

Call it something else.

Call it The 2026 Grocery List—the one you happily attend to almost every day. Because that’s what it really is: small choices, simple steps, and gentle reminders that you’re still moving forward.

And if you want a few “2026-worthy” ideas to scribble down (no pressure just inspiration), here are some that feel good and doable:

·       Choose progress over perfection (perfection is exhausting anyway)

·       Make space for what’s beautiful—a moment, a conversation, a little luxury, a laugh

·       Take care of the body you live in (it carries you through everything)

·       Be intentional with your time—it’s your most precious accessory

·       Say yes to joy (even the small kind)

·       Say no without guilt (that’s a glow-up too)

·       Invest in the people who feel like peace

·       Create something with your hands, your heart, or your imagination

Because in the end, what matters isn’t some perfect checklist!

It’s the joy in the journey we’re on with ourselves, our family, our friends, and the promises we make along the way.

Here’s to a 2026 that feels lighter, brighter, and more you.

With fun & love,
Carol
