Come Out, Come Out… Wherever You Are?

Come Out, Come Out… Wherever You Are?

Peekaboo Memories

Remember Hide ’n Seek? The thrill of squishing yourself behind a curtain, toes sticking out just enough to betray you, muffling giggles under your breath while your whole body shook with anticipation? The magic wasn’t in being found—it was in the delicious suspense of the game itself.

My First Digital Hiding Spot

Yesterday, my friend David—my Visual Architect and Creative Alchemist—pressed the mysterious “publish” button on my very first LinkedIn blog. Suddenly—poof!—2,642 people spotted me. Imagine me with wide eyes, popping out from behind a velvet curtain, waving awkwardly but grinning ear to ear.

I read every little note that came in like secret messages passed under the classroom desk. Some deserved quick thank-yous, others sparked longer whispers of connection. Each reply was like saying, You found me!

A Glittery Reminder

This morning, while sipping coffee that tasted a little like courage, I realized something: it’s never really about the numbers. Not the impressions, not the claps, not the “You go, girl!” emojis. It’s always been about the journey.

My creative path has shape-shifted more than once—designing fine jewelry that glittered like captured starlight, couture sewing stitched with hours of love, and now this playful adventure of words. Every new form began with a nudge from that rascal inner voice whispering, Come play.

Wise Words, Pocket-Sized

Once, at a trade show, I listened to a famous designer. He ended his talk with something that landed in me like confetti: no matter how many zeros landed in his bank account over the decades, the work—the pride, the lessons, the sweat and the sparkle—always felt the same. The game just got bigger, louder, more extravagant. But at its heart? Same rules. Same joy.

Let’s Keep Playing

Hide ’n Seek taught us early: the joy is in the hiding, the breathless waiting, the shriek of laughter when we’re discovered. Then—without missing a beat—we play again.

And so it is with creativity. Not about arrival. Not about trophies. It’s about the thrill of daring, giggling through mistakes, whispering to yourself, Come out, come out, wherever you are.

Because the journey is the game.
And the game is where the joy lives.
